2. Scope
This notice applies to the use of the digital chat assistant "Olli" (camping advisor), embedded on Camping Berner Oberland websites and other camping portals. It supplements the general privacy notices of each website.
3. Data we process
• Content of your chat messages (questions and answers) • Selected language and an anonymous session identifier (session token) • Optional: feedback (helpful / not helpful) and voluntary comments • Technical conversation metadata (timestamp, answer status) We do not store IP addresses in the chat.
4. Purpose of processing
• Answering your questions about camping and the region • Improving the knowledge base (e.g. open questions, feedback) • Ensuring chat operation and quality
5. Legal basis
Processing is based on our legitimate interest in offering guests a digital advisory service and improving it (Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP), and – where required – on pre-contractual measures at your request.
6. Retention period
Chat histories are stored in a protected admin area and anonymised after 90 days (content is replaced, session data is decoupled). Feedback is retained for quality assurance until cleaned up as part of anonymisation.
7. Recipients and processors
To formulate answers, chat content is transmitted to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., USA). The application runs on our server infrastructure. Only authorised staff in the admin area can access chat logs.
8. International transfers
When using OpenAI, data may be transferred to the USA. OpenAI provides appropriate data protection safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses). See OpenAI’s privacy notice for details.
9. Your rights
